What happends when engineers start collaborating with language trainers?

Last week did the language teachers at Faculty of Technology start an inovative experiment in language training. They have indeed asked Prof. Liviu Moldovan from University Petru Major, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in Tirgu Mures, Romania, to use his expertice from engineering, to improve students learning of Norwegian and English!

Prof. Moldovan wants to promote and enhance exchange of students from Romania to Norway by using the Erasmus program. Unfortunately, his students arent very entusiastic. Is it anything that is interesting in Norway?

Prof. Moldovan are quite sure that young students in Norway feel very well which information students need. Thus, he has decided to visit one of the recruitment classes at HiST, asking them if they may help him to develope information and promotional material that are going to be used by his engineering students in Romania. His goal is to use this material to convince and motivate them to apply for a scholarship from the Erasmus program.

The students  accepted the challenge, and are going to use it as a case in their studies of their mother language and in training of Engiish. They are currently developing an information leaflet, a video for promotion of HiST and Trondheim as a student town, and a web-page. The students have got 4 weeks to solve the problem and deliver the product to Prof. Moldovan. During this period they will use many modern communication technologies, as well as the new digital learning laboratories at Faculty of Technology.  They will for instance have several video meeting with Prof. Moldovan, which are their customer.
