Student TV: Succsess with Interactive Education


Students at the University College of Sør-Trøndelag can now actively participate in lectures without raising their hands.

The school has developed a so-called student response system in which students utilize technical devices like smart phones, web boards and computer to answer questions given by the lecturer.

Associate professor Trond Morten Thorseth at the Faculty of Technology, says that students are strongly in favor of the method, but the other lecturers are skeptical. He emphasizes that technical instruments may weaken the message, but it also can be used to bring out the point better.
