Sonans Education start testing SRS, Oslo

Sonans has 11 high schools which are distributed all over Norway, and several thousands students. They provide on site courses and distance learning in a wide range of subjects in high school education.

During Online Educa in Berlin, they visited the HiST stand and noticed the methods and software solutions that HiST has developed within use or response technologies on students own mobile devices.

In the beginning of February HiST was invited to Oslo in order to provide a demo of the Student Response System (SRS). This included information addressing the results and outputs from Lifelong Learning Program projects like EduMecca, Do-IT, Global SRS and Done-IT. Audun Grøm demonstrated the SRS system to the ICT-director, Terje Ravnsborg, and his team, and informed about the Peer Learning Assessment System (PeLe) that is currently developed in the HiST lead KA3 project Done-IT.

Sonans are going to the test out the SRS in 2-3 classes during the spring term, starting from March 2012. HiST will as part of the exploitation activities in EU-funded projects support them during the initial start up phase. This includes for instance to arrange a roundtable seminar for teachers and instructors in Oslo during the spring.

Sonans will also take part in the exploitation activities from the Done-IT project and test out PeLe in the fall 2012.

SRS 2.0, PELE 1.5, Eval 1.0 and iLike 1.0 are available for use.
