Background

For society and enterprises institutions of higher education are vital sources of knowledge, seedbeds of innovation and engines of growth. In most OECD countries there are attempts to strengthen the regional role and contribution of the higher education institutions based on close cooperation and partnership with various regional actors.

The EDUFOOD project are building on existing co-operation between HiST and the University of Tuzla (UNTZ) which is extended to include the area of food technology. University of Novi Sad (UNNS) is invited to participate in cooperation with UNTZ.

The project aims to establish concepts and methodology for university – enterprise co-operation in the area of food technology. Since fruits and wild berries production and processing is of particular importance in Bosnia Herzegovina, fruit and wild berry will be used as a case in this project. However, the concept and methodology for university – enterprise co-operation will be similar for and thus transferrable to other types of food production and processing.
