Students engaged in development of mobile SRS

Electroengineering students, active in Elektra at HiST, are engaged in the development of a mobile Student Response Systen (SRS) platform. They will work with both hardware development and programming. The goal is to design and build a complete portable SRS system, with server, wireless access point, and a battery pack. On the picture you see the first year students, Lars-Arne Larsen, Bendik Henriksen and Øyvind Schei, together with Pascal Pein and Robin Støckert from AFT.
The mobile system will be designed to fullfill certain goals:
- Easy to set up and use.
- Have the capacity to manage a class of students/pupils.
- Battery for outdoor use.
The users of the system, connects through their wireless device (for instance a smart phone) to the mobile SRS system, and can then participate and respond to the questions from the teacher.
On the image you see a beagle board, where the SRS server is installed and tested.

SRS 2.0, PELE 1.5, Eval 1.0 and iLike 1.0 are available for use.
