Scholarships for students and staff from Czech Republic

Last week more than 100 people from universities and educational organizations in the Czech Republic attended the international contact seminar in Prague. Researchers from HiST were invited to promote some of their ongoing R&D activities, and in order to use this opportunity to develop new mobility programs as well as new institutional cooperation through joint research projects. The mobile learning technology solutions from HiST were demonstrated.

Organizations like The University of West Bohemia, Brno University of Technology, Metropolitanian University of Prague, The Polytechnical School of Jihlava, The Technical University of Ostrava, The Vysoka Skola Logistiky, Private University College of Economic Studies in Prague, Vestfold University College from Norway and The University of Liechtenstein were invited to test these mobile learning solutions.

The Department of English and American Studies at the Philosophical Faculty of The Palacky University Olomouc (24.000 students), for instance, expressed a keen interest in the response technology developed through several EU funded projects like Done-IT and Global-SRS. They want to start testing and exploring mobile technology on their student`s handheld devices, including activities that will facilitiate the development of a mobility framework for the exchange of students and staff between their university and HiST, as well as new research projects addressing new evaluation and assessment methods.

Researchers from HIST are planning to visit some of these schools in the fall in order to provide demonstrations and training sessions to teachers and instructors. These sessions will address the concept of immediate feedback by using response technology at the students' own mobile devices.
