SRS workshop for VET instructors in Romania

2013-04-01

On April 3rd, HiST will be organizing  a workshop for VET teachers and instructors in Romania, together with Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Mures County. The workshop is going to use Activity Based Training methods, to train the teachers and instructors in using the online Student Response System (SRS) in vocational education and training (VET). One of the goals is to demonstrate how student activating learning and training methods may be used in VET courses in Romania.

The workshop will demonstrate how the new learning environmen can help close the traditional gap between VET training and the industrial production process workflow. The courses are structured as a number of work orders, each containing a number of work packages, set to improve knowledge and competence transfer according to a just-in-time on-the-job production workflow approach. The theoretical training is delivered immediately before practical training tasks, thus giving a direct link between theory and practice - according to the industrial production path of a product. The methods are generic, and therefore applicable to European wide manufacturing industry sectors.

The online Student Response System for hand held devices (smartphones, laptops and tablets) will be used to enhance interaction and discussion in class during the problem solving phases, in order to enhance the production competence and know-how transfer, and to immediately evaluate learning effect.
